Creative Mercantile’s Mercantile Mail: The Subscription Box You Didn’t Know You Needed

Besides my addiction to planners and planner related supplies, my other addiction is subscription boxes much to my husband’s chagrin. At one time I received the following subscription boxes:

  • Birchbox
  • Stitch Fix
  • Julep Maven
  • Home Chef
  • artsnacks
  • The Planner Addict Box
  • Scarlet Lime’s Planner Society Box
  • Mercantile Mail

With me attending school full time this coming fall, I am quitting my full time job. This means that I’ve had to drastically cut my spending and that includes subscription boxes. I have cancelled all but two. One of which is my Mercantile Mail subscription. If you follow the jump, I’ll tell you why out of all the subscription boxes I was receiving, I kept Mercantile Mail.

Looks can be deceiving.

Once you’ve opened the box and unwrapped the tissue paper, you’re greeted with what appears to be a few odds-and-ends and some colorful treat bags. Don’t let these little bags fool you…they’re jam-packed with awesomeness. I really love that most of what you receive are in these adorable colored or glassine treat bags because it feels like a surprise within a surprise! Plus, it’s nice to reuse these as pockets in your planner to keep receipts, memorabilia, lists, etc.

You get a lot for your $$$$.

Here’s what was included in the July Mercantile Mail box. At $24.95 with free shipping (+ $10 International), you get some serious bang for your buck.

  • Sticker set (3 sheets) – Creative Mercantile
  • Roller Stamp – American Crafts
  • Small wood stamp – Hero Arts
  • Small sticker set – Kindness by Emma
  • Bon Voyage Washi Tape
  • Gold shaped paper clips (says 3 but I got 4) – American Crafts
  • Small grey packing tag
  • Custom Journal Cards (2) – Creative Mercantile
  • “Oh Yes” die-cut (2)
  • Amy Tangerine Minc Postcards (2) – American Crafts. {The Minc is a paper crafting machine in which heat-activated foil reacts with the toner of a laser jet printer. You feed the foil and the postcard into the Minc similarly to a laminator. You can also use a laminator if it laminates with heat.}
  • Sticky note pad – Little B
  • Clear photo overlays – Becky Higgins

Below are some close ups of everything that’s included in July’s box.

It’s not just for planners.

Granted, I personally use my Mercantile Mail in my planner, but really you can use it for anything. Creative Mercantile’s own description explains it best:

Creative Mercantile’s Creative Manifesto found under the ‘About Us’ page further explores why the business and the box where created.

Most of all, it’s about the beauty and brains behind Creative Mercantile, Christina Olsen.

Christina had a passion for stationary, planners, and other paper crafting supplies and wanted to share this love with others just like her. I feel lucky and blessed to have gotten to know her personally through Instagram (You can follow Christina @creativemercantile on IG). February is when I first started being active within the Instagram planner community, and Christina is one of the first ladies I became friends with and bonded with over planners on Instagram. Although, we’ve never met in person, I know without a doubt that she is a warm, kind-hearted person. I’m grateful to have gotten to know you and hope we’re friends for a long time!

Help the economy by shopping small.

Believe it or not small businesses were responsible for 63% of new jobs created from 1993-2013. 63%!!! This information comes from Forbes in the article, “Why You Need to Support Small Businesses.” When a new job is created, the individuals that fill those jobs can then turn their earnings into purchases, and those purchases turn into cash flow, and this helps bolster the economy. So, if you’re a planner, stationary lover, or a generally creative person, I highly recommend supporting the small business that is Creative Mercantile by signing up for the monthly Mercantile Mail box. Sign up today and use code – VIPBFF – for 10% off your first 3 months (new subscribers only).

If you subscribe to Mercantile Mail and love it, let me know! I’d love to hear about it.

I didn’t receive any compensation or free products from Creative Mercantile. The opinions are my own, and I purchased my box at full retail value. Just wanted to share the love!
